Atheists for Autism Research

About Me

Hi, my name is Staks Rosch. My niece is almost 5 years old and has autism. She is just starting to communicate, but can't really talk much yet. The fact is that 1 out of every 150 children born today are diagnosed on the autism spectrum. AutismSpeaks.org is trying to help. Through them, I have set up this group to help get my fellow atheists involved. I have done this for a few reasons.
1. As an atheist, I value scientific research which is the best way to learn about this illness and to find treatments and cures.
2. I also want to prove to the world that atheists give to charity too. While I know that we all do give to charity, it is time that we start to do so in the name of atheism and reason.
3. This is an illness which we know very little about and it is starting to become an epidemic. We need to find treatments and cures and scientific research is the way.
I am asking all atheists to please give at least $10 to the cause. There is also a cafepress site where you can get t-shirts at cost so that you can walk in one of the Autism Walk events all over the nation. Click the link below to donate.
Thanx,
-Staks
