The Kittiwakes

About Me

‘Lofoten Calling’ is original music based around the people, landscape, folklore and history of the Lofoten Islands, - an area above the Arctic Circle in Norway. The music is song based, and influenced by traditional British Isles and Norwegian folk music. ____________________________________________________________ ______'A wonderfully bright and highly original debut.' - BBC Music ____________________________________________________________ ___'Absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend highly enough catching them live if you get the chance' - Folk and Roots Online______________________________________________________ _________'The Kittiwakes (rissa tridactyla): delicious, intriguing and evocative music, beautifully played and sung by this talented trio. Recommended to twitchers and lovers of folk music alike' - Paul Collier, Leigh Folk Festival____________________________________________________ ___________'The Kittiwakes craft timeless and magical acoustically dappled folk treats - gentle and alluring ostensibly Gaelic in sound texture and gorgeously flighty braided as they are by corteges of mandolins, accordions and violins.' - Losing Today ____________________________________________________________ ______
