It hasn’t always been an easy life for me. My father was a pastor my entire life (up until recently) and my family and I were always on the go: moving just about every 2 years. Just when I thought I was settling in and making new friends, we’d have to pack up and move again. This alone, was hard on us all, as you can imagine.
However, I noticed as I entered into my early teens and really started striving fullforce for my dreams, my talents were widening. But, instead of being praised and appreciated, other girls my age tried their hardest to shoot me down and see to it that I failed in all my endeavors. For whatever reasons...jealousy, insecurities, etc...most girls decided to let those reasons consume them and I was abused physically, mentally, and emotionally for years and still to this day. I do not say any of this for sympathy or compassion, for that is not what I seek. I say all this to say that it has made me who I am and has made me so much stronger. Those that have put me down and those who try to come in between the good things in my life only inspire me to write more and to be a better person. I have learned that my strength lies in God’s hands, not in human hands.
My family and I recently moved to South Florida from a small town in Oklahoma. We have since then hit a hard time in life...My parents have worked their entire lives to be in ministry and upon moving half way across the country, we were abused behind the scenes at our new church we thought we would call "home." My parents couldn’t take the abuse any longer, and so they resigend becoming jobless for a time being. But, my parent’s bravery and faith has only inspired me to work harder than I thought I could.
Life's not always beautiful. Never give up! Let my life exemplify that you can come from nothing and become something….as big as you dream!!
