Matt Mays was born in Sydney, Australia and grew up on a tobacco farm in Appomattox, Va. He received a BFA in Illinois and has studied at The Art Students League in NYC. Mays proudly served for years as a studio assistant to a pupil of the famed, Hans Hofmann. His work is owned by all types of folks, including legend Willie Nelson, The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Google.
