I am becoming a fanatic about traveling. I've been outside the country twice, to Israel and the Czech Republic. My next overseas trip is going to be next spring/summer (Ireland,England, the Czech Republic, hopefully Uganda and Germany). But besides those huge trips I love getting in the car and going anywhere for any reason...or no reason at all. Yay for roadtrips! I tried to knit, I can't really paint or anything...and I'm fairly lazy...so not too many traditional hobbies. Oh, and (yeah, I know I'm a dork)...
Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward, Margaret Mitchell (my role model...best feminist ever and a journalist to boot!), my Great-Aunt Aki (she's the reason my parents got together), and Amelia Collins (my namesake).
Any and everything...I'm always up for listening to new bands/artists.
Well, Gone With the Wind...duh. I like some other classics too: Giant, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Captain Blood, The White Sister, and Pillow Talk. Musicals are the best cause I can sing along (completely out of tune, of course)...Moulin Rouge, Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady, and Funny Girl (Omar Sharif, you own my soul). I have to say, I like this fantasy kick...Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia. And, despite the fact that I'm an "adult"...Peter Pan and Alladin.
Heroes, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and my guilty pleasure for six years running...Passions.
Hey look! Gone With the Wind again! But, yes, I have read many other books. Oh, and people who put Cosmo and Vogue in this section lower my belief in human intelligence. I like a lot of classics...the Great Gatsby, A Tale of Two Cities, The Scarlett Letter, and The Virginian. And after hearing my friends talk about the Wheel of Time series for the past year...I finally started...And books I DON'T LIKE...Faulkner...oh God, never ever again. There is nothing worse than As I Lay Dying. I am ashamed that he is considered a god among southern authors.
People who are genuine and unafraid of what the world will think of them. And my Czech friends....not the natives, the nice normal Baha'i youth at the program. I miss them so much I'm counting down till next year..
