Rodrigo Carreira started professionally in the music market on 1993, influenced by his father which was also a D.J and owner of “Doctor Disco”, specialized electronic music record store that was reference for the Djs in the south of Brazil. In the store Rodrigo had the opportunity of accompanying daily the evolution of the style since 80..s until today. This brought different influences for his own work.
In 1997, with 17 years old, he was invited to assume his first residence on a club called "Legend..s", which was a very important club for the city of Curitiba and for the electronic music scene in the south of Brazil. Rodrigo also used to participate on radio shows like Groove Planet on the radio station Transamérica which was a leader of audience.
After years of experience as a dj and the natural need to produce his own music, Rodrigo started Oxyd, project headed to progressive style that soon got the attention of dj..s and labels of the whole world and had the 2 first tracks released on the compilation Connected Session 2 made by dj Oli(Mos - Germany) on ZMA label. Today Oxyd have tracks released on the main labels of the style such as as Plusquam(Germany), Iboga(México), Sinn Tec(Germany), Groovezone(Japan), CandyFlip(Germany) and is one of the most important artists of the progressive scene in Brazil, being on the line up of the best clubs, parties and festivals from south to north of Brazil such as Tranceformation, Solaris dance festival, Universo Paralelo, Trancendence, Brazilians Trance Festival, Earthdance, XXXperience e Tribal Tech and has also played in countries such as England and Japan.
Rodrigo Carreira also works on a side project, which he signs with his own name. Bringing a big part of his musical past, this project has influences of different styles, such as techno, electro and trance with a minimalistic tendence. The first tracks of this project were released on the German label “Sinn Tech” and “Soul Man Music” of Uruguay, and since then the project started to get attention of renowned artists such as Marcelo Castelli, Presslaboys, D-Nox and Beckers . Rodrigo Carreira is also one of the heads behind Synk Records & Artist Management .
