About Me
Indraloka is a Sanskrit word meaning 'God's Heaven'. Our guiding principle is that all life is sacred, and we are all related ('the ones that walk, the ones that crawl, the ones that fly, and the ones that swim'). Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit, charitable (501c3 tax exempt) organization, provides animals in desperate need with lifetime safe sanctuary, including love, compassion, gentle care, and dignity.
Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, Inc. takes in abused, neglected, or abandoned animals of every species, both large and small. We focus on those with severe medical or behavioral issues that would otherwise be considered un-adoptable, providing veterinary care, retraining, and nurturing to bring each animal back to full health, and then keeping them here at the sanctuary for the rest of their natural lives. In the future, we plan to expand our services to include opportunities for abused or otherwise traumatized children, with the help of adolescent psychology professionals, to work with the animals as a therapeutic opportunity. We currently have about 70 animals in our care, including dogs, cats, horses, goats, pigs, chickens, and turkeys. Many of these are elderly, have chronic medical conditions or other special needs.
