Women Organized to Make Abuse Nonexistent, Inc. has operated since 1978 as a nonprofit, community-based agency serving battered women and their children in San Francisco and the larger Bay Area. Our mission is to assist women and their children in securing safety and in building stable, violence-free lives. To this end, we provide the following services: a 24-hour crisis line, advocacy, individual therapy, group counseling, community education and outreach.
A word about our myspace page...Because of the wide-array of friend requests we receive, its time we talk about why we are on myspace!We have this page to educate and reach out to survivors, our amazing volunteers and other non-profits dealing with issues we are down for. Look at our friends, you'll see what we mean.WOMAN Inc is not a religious agency but we seem to get a lot of friend and comment requests from various religious communities. Empowerment is our #1 objective here at WOMAN Inc, and if that's what you find in your religious beliefs, we sincerely congratulate you. We encourage you to do up your page and get the word out, but please don't ask us to do it for you--cuz we won't.Same goes for your bands and careers--we wish you a whole lot of luck with your music, book you are writing, whatever, but we aren't a networking site for the advancement of your career. We are friends with some bands and companies who are down for our cause, and we know them.
