About Me

Latin for “made man,” Homofactus Press was founded by noted filmmaker and author Jay Sennett, . We are comitted to reflecting the true diversity of our community by representing underrespresented communities of color and differently abled authors.
Our second book, The Marrow's Telling: Words in Motion features disability activist Eli Clare's stunning poetry and prose. Clare maps his work around embodied experiences of disability, race, gender transgression, sexual abuse and sexuality.

The Marrow's Telling: Words in Motion is a 2007 Lambda Literary Award Finalist! We'll be in L.A. for the awards ceremony May 29.
Alison Bechdel, author of Fun Home and Dykes to Watch out For says: “Eli Clare works a vital alchemy…Using the language of the elemental world, he delineates a complex human intersection and transmutes cruelty into its opposite—a potent, life- giving remedy.”
Eli Clare is the author of Exile and Pride: Disability, Queerness, and Liberation (South End Press, 1999) and has been widely published.
The first Homofactus Press book is 2006's anthology Self-Organizing Men: Conscious Masculinities in Time and Space. Edited by publisher Jay Sennett, the anthology provided a venue for all types of men--FtMs, transgender men, transsexual men, bio men, drag kings and any one who felt comfortable using the term "man" some of the time--a place to talk about what it means to be a man.
Jay explains, "As an FTM, I wondered how I should look, what I should wear, how I should act. After about 8 years on T and two surgeries, I realized I wasn't the only man consumed by these questions. Bio men ~ the guys we all wish we were like ~ struggled with the very same questions."
Self-Organizing Men breaks traditions by including cartoons, poetry, and essays and received rave reviews by press and readers alike:
"This is a book of superior quality."--Max Wolf Valerio, author of Testosterone Files.

"Mold-breaking"--Charlie Anders, San Francisco Bay Gaurdian, June 19, 2007
