Georgi Varbanov, Dass seine Zukunft nicht an den Schlaginstrumenten vorbeiführen kann, wusste Georgi Varbanov bereits seit seinem sechsten Lebensjahr. So war er dann auch mit bereits sieben Jahren (und als der jüngste Teilnehmer) bereits Preisträger des wichtigsten nationalen Wettbewerbs Bulgariens „Sv. Obretenov“ Provadia 1988, was wohl Beweis genug dafür ist, dass diese Entscheidung richtig war. Es folgten noch mehr als 20 Auszeichnungen von verschiedenen nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben während seines Studiums an der Musikschule Pleven, der Staatlichen Musikakademie Sofia, dem Richard Strauss Konservatorium München und der Universität Mozarteum Salzburg. Dies sind unter anderem zwei Erste Preise bei der „International Competition for Percussion Instruments Pendim“ 1999 und 2005, der Preis des „Kulturkreis Gastaig“ in München 2003, sowie der Erste Preis inklusive zweier Sonderpreise bei der „International Percussion Competition Luxemburg 2005“ zusammen mit der Via Nova Percussion Group. Dank der langjährigen Zusammenarbeit mit Peter Sadlo, Adel Schalaby, Justus Frantz, Bogdan Bacanu und der langjährigen Freundschaft zu Alexander Kamenarov, entwickelte sich Georgi Varbanov zu einem vielseitigem Künstler. Er ist Marimbist mit breitem Repertoire, Ethno-Musik Spezialist und ausgezeichneter Orchestermusiker, der seit 2009 als Soloschlagzeuger in der „Orchestre National d'Ile de France" in Paris tätig ist. Auch seine Fähigkeiten als Komponist sind über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Dass von ihm in Zusammenarbeit mit Alexander Kamenarov komponierte Stück „Tanz za Barabani“ wurde von der Via Nova Percussion Group bereits in Japan, Taiwan, Deutschland, Österreich, Italien und der Schweiz mit großem Erfolg aufgeführt.
Georgi Varbanov Ever since the age of six Georgi Varbanov knew that his future could not exclude percussion instruments. Only seven years old and as the youngest participant, he was a prize winner at Bulgaria’s most important national competition, the Obretenov Provadia 1988, which is surely proof enough of his exceptional talent. This was followed by over 20 awards from various national and international competitions in the course of his studies at the Music College in Pleven, the State Music Academy of Sofia, the Richard Strauss Conservatoire in Munich, and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. These include two first prizes at the International Competition for Percussion Instruments Pendim in 1999 and in 2005, the prize of the Kulturkreis Gastaig in Munich in 2003, as well as the first prize, including two special awards, at the International Percussion Competition Luxemburg 2005, together with the Via Nova Percussion Group. Thanks to his collaboration with Peter Sadlo, Adel Schalaby, Justus Frantz, Bogdan Bacanu, and the long-lasting friendship with Alexander Kamenarov, Georgi Varbanov has become a multi-talented artist. He is a marimba player with a broad repertoire, an ethnic music specialist, and an excellent orchestral musician, who is active as solo percussionist in the "Orchestre National d'Ile de France" in Paris, since 2009. Georgi Varbanov is also active as a composer. Tanz za Barabani, which he composed in collaboration with Alexander Kamenarov, has already been performed with great success by the Via Nova Percussion Group in Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland.
Depuis l'âge de six ans, Georgi Varbanov est passionné par les percussions. En 1988, il remporte le concours national le plus important de Provadia, en Bulgarie.Georgi Varbanov obtient plus de vingt prix lors de nombreux concours nationaux et internationaux au cours de ses études ; au Collège de Musique de Pleven, à l'Académie de Musique d'État de Sofia, au Conservatoire de Richard Strauss à Munich (dans la classe de Adel Shalaby), ainsi qu'à l'université Mozarteum à Salzbourg avec Peter Sadlo. Parmi ces prix : le Concours international pour les Instruments de Percussion Pendim, (1999 et en 2005) et le prix du Kulturkreis Gastaig à Munich, (2003). Il remporte également deux prix spéciaux au Concours de Percussion international (Luxembourg-2005) avec le Via Nova Percussion Group. Après ce succès, le groupe donne régulièrement des concerts à des festivals de renom à Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japon, Allemagne, Autriche, Italie et en Suisse.En 2009, Georgi Varbanov est reçu au poste de «premier percussionniste solo» à l’Orchestre National d’Île de France.
