Beginnings are always messy.

About Me

Well hello folks!
For those who dont know me or unfortunatley stumbled upon this page by accident, my name is Steve Callaghan and I'm 25 years old. I'm a DJ & producer from the UK who likes to spend his time producing Trance and Progressive House, Electro & Minimal.
I'm also a Capricorn and scared of spiders.
I'm hardly the most interesting person in the world, but one fact about myself is that I was 13 on Friday 13th which incedently makes me a numerologist's wet dream.
I've been into the dance scene since about 1996 as a teenager, and producing since about 2002 but things really kicked off for me back in 2005 as my debut release "The Element" with producer Frase got massive support from a majority of the top trance jocks including Armin & Ferry and radio exposure on Galaxy and Ministry Of Sound. It gained excellent press coverage in Mixmag and DJ and even gained the top spot in the World Trance Charts! (which is nice)
After this I had my debut solo release "Shelter" which gained brillant support from a number of top DJs including Jon O Bir at Godskitchen, Menno De Jong and Above & Beyond.
At the end of of 2005 I moved to Manchester and then sort of fell off the radar until recently, I complelty severed all ties with the dance scene until i got my head together and understood where I wanted to take my music. Stupid decision in hindsight, but hey, hindsight is always a bitch.
For those of you who would like to hear the whole story of how everything kicked off for me I've included a blog so check it out!
As of 2007 I'm back again, this time embracing the digital age with Ableton and laptops, Midi Controllers and an updated sound, I just hope people like the new stuff as much as the old! My DJ'ing has evolved too now, playing everything from breaks and electroclash through to trance and minimal.Trance will always be the genre that dragged me into the dance scene and semi spotlight, and I will always have a soft spot for it, but I must admit my style is changing drastically. I'm moving more towards breaks and crossover dance, electro and progressive, trying to make a connection between the melodies that makes my hairs stand on end and the groove that makes me sweaty at 3am.
I'm looking forward to keeping a good relationship going with the people who enjoy my music, I fell off the radar for quite a while and it wasnt fair to the people who supported me so I guess this is me apologising.
First and foremost though, this page is here to promote my music and bridge a connection between the people who enjoy it and the person who makes it, but it will not just be about music.
There will be many blogs accounting everything I deem fit to write about, from reviews of favorite CDs and videogames, links to my DJ mixes and random chat about things I feel the urge to bore you with.
Like comedy. I love comedy and I love being comedic, it is true I have a knack of making people laugh, but most of the time it's not intentional.
Well this is me, and I hope you will enjoy visiting this page until the day you get bored, or I get bored. Or something. You never know, this could be the start of something quite special.
