Born and bred in Kelheim/South Bavaria, iLL Tizers early
acquaintance with electronic music led him to his first rave in 1995.
With an ear attuned to anything and everything electronic music was
capable of, he immersed himself in its eclectic range (house music,
hardcore techno, hardcore house, garage, Detroit techno, speed house,
2step) until he decided to start mixing himself. His debut in 98
marked, definitively, his transition towards becoming the DJ he knew
himself to be: his turntables at a private party had the entire crowd
convinced he had been mixing for years. After his impressive
unveiling, he quickly found himself amidst Regensburgs electronic
music scene, spinning regularly at places like Sudhaus and Suite 15
before, ultimately, finding himself heading straight for Berlin in
2000. He began spinning in bars and parties in town, like Ambulance
Bar and Bastard before becoming a regular DJ for the Notausgang party
at Golden Gate and Fire club in 2006. Taken by his playfulness and
curiously chameleon beats, Berlin has been keen to follow his lead.
At once both actor and animator, paramedic and cardiac arrest, a nice
guy and a wise guy, iLL Tizer has proved himself to be quite the
electronica puppeteer. Building up his sets like stories, his blend
of electro, techno, trance, and deep house is never without its
melancholic sympathies,a strand which pulls and pulses, breaks and
bleeds and heals from within.
