There is an old statement that says Artist are born and not created
and these artists were born destined to reach the pinnacle of music and success.
Sargent (Ubaldo A. Duran) was born on May 21st, 1988 in Santo Domingo, Dominican
Republic. At the age of 3, Sargent along with his mother and older sister, moved
to New Jersey to live with his father. Unfortunaly after six years, his father was
never around so that caused his mother to make the decision to move to Freeport,
New York where they will start a new life. Sargent grew up with the anger inside
the reason being that his father not being with him. By the age of 11 he began writing
songs to take out some of the animosity that he was feeling and that helped him. As
years went by Sargent found out of a special attribute that no one can withdraw from
him which was writing songs. Kapricho (Ubaldo O. Ureña) was born on May 31st, 1984 in
East Meadow, New York. At the very early age of 2 Kapricho would sing in front of his
family while his uncle played the piano. He lived with his mother in Queens, New York
until the age of 8 where his mom decided to send him to live with his grandmother in
Freeport, New York, due to the fact that she gave birth to his sister and was not able
to provide for both of them. At the age of 12 Kapricho began writing poetry to escape
the negativity around him. While growing up Kapricho formed various groups with friends
and family members of which none of them worked out. That all changed when Sargent Y
Kapricho was formed in 2003. Sargent Y Kapricho are determined artist who have the
ambition to succeed no matter the obstacles. They have shed their blood, sweat and
tears and been thru hell and high water but that still hasnt stop their aspiration
to be the best in what ever they do. Aside from music these two cousins are both
students. Sargent is working toward his associate degree in Music Management and
Kapricho is working towards his bachelor degree in Nutrition. Kapricho is also a
into bodybuilding and an acting. They have done many local performances
including Club 440, Jimmys Lounge Café, Molloy College, Rancho Jubilee and the
list goes on. Their Videos for the songs Como De Debe De Amar and Un Beso have
appeared on public access in a show called Power Team TV. They have recorded in
Tonys Studio where artists like Theodoro Reyes and Aventura have recorded and
H. C & F where dancehall reggae artist Shaggy has recorded.
Besides Reggaeton they have done other types of music such as Bachata, Rap,
Hip Hop, Merengue, Catholic Rap, Rock, Techno and Dance. They have also opened up for acts such as Tres Coronas, Anayka, and France Joli. Kapricho has sung other
languages including German, Russian, Italian and Hebrew. This shows sky is the
limit and they are willing to extend their talents.
