Skink - 5475 Days EP

Following on from his self titled debut album, 5475 Days is a journey into the more experimental realms of Skink’s electronic soundscapes, taking in elements of drone, found sound, folk and dark ambience.

The EP divided into seven parts is a highly emotional piece of work and expresses some deeper issues that have been lurking under the radar of Skink’s psyche since the beginning of this musical project.

The key tracks of the EP for us are the Last Post sampling “Part II” and the gorgeous Bibio meets Current 93 lament of “Part VII”.

Skink - "Skink"

Skink is the debut release by Newbury, UK based electronica artist Paul Mulholland. The album is the fruits of five yearsof labour. The tracks were recorded in a variety of locations and situations and mirror a musical and personal journey. Although the album takes is influenced by bands such as Boards of Canada, Brian Eno, Plaid and the ambient works of Richard D. James (AFX, Aphex Twin), Skink manages to create his ownidentity amongst these pioneers. The album touches on many musical styles from the sparse piano opening track “Nothing” to the dark unsettling ambience of “Minutes turn to Hours” to the melodic and dreamlike “Who we are?”
