Everybody's bio starts the same. "So and so was performing from the time they were a fetus. They performed in their church choir (or high school musicals) and blah blah blah blah blah." Mine reads similar. No need to bore you with the details. I thought I was gonna be an actress. I attended the Univeristy at Buffalo for 4 years just to find out how cliquey the theatre department was and I never got cast. So I quit school. Whatever. Life goes on. While there, however, I did join the Royal Pitches, UB's all female a cappella group, founded by my friend Dana Gold (see friends list). Sang a few solos, a duet and some harmonies. Musically one of the best experiences of my life and I will never forget those girls. I moved back home to Long Island and actually got my confidence built up by going to karaoke. That's right folks, karaoke. After that performed at a few open mic nights a cappella style. I would perform songs by India. Arie and Fiona Apple sans musical background because the only instrument I can play well is the clarinet and doing that while singing is pretty much near impossible. I auditioned for some bands, did a couple of side projects, and in the mean time built up my portfolio by working with some friends. "Don't You Know", and "She's Leaving Home" both recorded with Betamax Artist Development (see friend list). Your Eyes" written by Greg of my former band The Shakes, now New York Dirt (see friends list). After recording "Rendevous" I was asked if I would ever be interested in doing porn. Eh, you win some you lose some. And that is where the music on this page comes from.I've been in San Diego for a year now. Three months after arriving here, I joined a traditional Jamaican ska band called the Hi-Lites and had my first performance on the West Coast at the 3 Floors of Ska show at the Knitting Factory in LA. While the music was nothing that I had ever been influenced by, I love opening myself to new experiences and I have grown to love it. We were signed to Megalith records and went on tour in Vegas, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. Soon after tour, however, the band broke up. It happens. Now I am involved in a spin off project called The Amalgamated involving 6 of the 9, that's right, 9 members of the original band. Things are going well I guess. Just another day in the life of the struggling musician.
