This page is the official AS IT IS TV myspace page. It covers all the different type of things that as it is tv captures. AS IT IS TV represents the streets. We used to work for the BBC, but didnt like the way they didnt show things as it is! So we decided to start our own TV station on a underground level and show things how they really are.We started of doin adverts for local companies in Bristol, putting it on VHS and putting it out for free on the streets to advertise the companies. We then started filming Weddings,Funerals,Christnings,Seminars,Sports events and any other type of event u can think of we have done it.
We have travelled all over the world from America to Gambia,St Lucia,Jamaica,Spain,France,Germany & Greece promoting & filming in these countries seeing the difference between here in the U.K and these other places.AS IT IS TV represents the people of the streets, we see ourself as a voice for the people, giving them the opportunity to be heard and get there message out to the world. As it is tv has won 2 awards for the BBC two years running which has never been done before and never been won by a black person.Ghettos are everywhere is a DVD where as it is travelled all over the UK to see if there was any difference between each city's ghetto and what the youth's had to say for thereselves about their life experiences. We found that most of them expressed theirselves through Rap which is like poetry. On the DVD we put alot of messages through it from some of the older people who shared their knowledge and experiences with us to help benefit the youths of today.The next big project that as it is accomplished was the DVD "IS REGENERATION RACIST" a southwark council special. The aim of this DVD was to get Liberal Democrats out of power because of the way they were treating the people in southwark. We found out the regeneration was only affecting small businesses and other ethnic minorities and poor white people. On the DVD there will be things that will definatly shock you. How people are being treated now in the UK in 2007 is something you do not expect to see in one of the richest countries of the world. The story behind the woman that was shot in her head on a council estate in Peckham whilst she was holding a baby also an 60+ lady who has been living in a house with no electric,hot water or gas for 15 years and has turned her crazy! She hasn't had any support from anyone to conquer her problems. Plus a 70 year old caucasion man who has had 6 strokes an is living on the top floor of an estate building which is up for demolition.
