Dwarf the Skies

About Me

Dwarf the Skies started when Gabriel's impatience finally boiled over and he stole Grace's talent and time for a month of practicing and writing, and a day (and what a long one!) of recording. Much of their work was done through discussion in coffee shops, focusing more on the meaning and direction of songs. It suddenly occured to them that they needed to write some. The entire CD (of fourteen original songs) was written in late February and recorded in the middle of March. It was created in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and had to be completed by the time lucky Grace moved to Canada. Psst... Let's Go! was written two days before recording and was never practiced. The CD is a concept album, and as such, much of the work put into it was conceptual, but, we hope, it's listenable as well.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Grace Munro - Lead Vocals, Keyboard, most musicGrace is the selling point for our little duo, as she is young, beautiful, charismatic, and has walked into a grocery store and walked out with someone wanting to be her best friend. Also, she is a very talented pianist, and an artful writer of melodies. She will be, one way or the other, not the one drinking in a gutter in 20 years.Gabriel Munro - other Lead Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, lyrics and some musicGabriel, needless to say, will be the one who dies drinking in a gutter in 20 years. Gabriel's enthusiasm for songwriting was created by his enthusiasm for poetry, but you can't stand on a street corner selling poetry. Suddenly music became the obvious answer. Gabriel aspires to be the first millionaire Canadian poet, or an English proff, as the case may be. His main talent is absorbing Grace's main talents, but he's opinionated enough to seem like he's the real voice behind things. Don't lift back the curtain. Pay no attention to the voice, Dorothy.
Influences: Grace's influences: Faure... She's really her own thing.Gabriel's influences: Tennyson, Poe, Matthew Good, Grace (depending on the song), but I'm pretty much my own thing.
Sounds Like: You tell us! So far we're confused enough just trying to find a genre to fit into...
