Let's start where it all began... in the beginning. I was born, raised and currently reside in St Louis Mo. From day one of my life (August 28th, 1982) I was exposed to music. My father, Dennis, had been a guitar player for years before I was even born, and had written many songs. His style of choice was heavy metal/hard rock. So, his influence in my music styling and choice was engraved into me for as far back as I can remember. In addition to my father's contribution, my brother, Jason, had a huge hand in getting my musical ambition rolling. Jason (7 years older than me) had started playing drums at a VERY early age. On top of that, my mother, Jan, played bass guitar as well! resulting in me being surrounded by music from them all the time. My brother, father, and mother collaborated together and released a tape locally when I was only 5 or 6. So music is a big part of my family and me.
I did not end up actually picking up and instrument until I was a freshman in high school. Prior to that time, I had always been the 'ears' for my brother and father when they would need an opinion on their music. My brother was always saying "Look at the family you're in. You have to learn to play an instrument someday." I had attempted a few things but nothing really stuck.
I do recall the exact moment and event the triggered me to dedicate myself to an instrument. I was sitting in my English class in high school, maybe a week into my freshman year, and we were doing the traditional "introduce yourself, and tell us something about you" thing. Well, this one guy that I never imagined to be a musician said he played bass. My brain stopped and said "Wait... THAT guy plays bass?". It became an instant matter of knowing if that guy can do it, then I'll have no problem becoming great at it! I remember that event very vividly, and I guess in a way you could say that guy was the big push I needed to start playing. So, that day I went home and demanded I be taught how to play bass. My family was incredibly supportive and immediatly got out the bass and started teaching me songs. My early learnings were songs from Scorpions, Night Ranger, Dokken, and things of the hard rock/heavy metal genre.
This was September of 1997. By June, I was tired of bass. It didnt offer me the technical and melodic aspect of music that I really wanted to achieve. So I set down the bass and picked up the guitar. Making the transition was simple because all the theory was still in my head. I developed on guitar the hard way, by picking difficult songs and practicing them. Things like early Yngwie Malmsteen and Tony MacAlpine. I really enjoy that style of music and theory.
Continuing on through the late 90s and early 2000s, I played in many local guitar competitions and always reaching the finalists level. Around this time I was also involved in a band called Kindred, with the people who brought music into my life: my family. We stuck together for a couple years and played alot. We had to call the band quits when my brother, Jason, moved to Florida to become a piano player. We always say we will get back together if/when Jason moves back.
My love for video games and video game music, roots back to the my early days playing Nintendo. I still recall the very first time I ever saw a Nintendo. I was 5 when my dad brought it home for me and my brother. All the classic games had incredibly well developed soundtracks for something as trivial as an 8-bit video game. To this day I still play old video games and enjoy their music along with the gameplay itself. Performing the music for The Nintendo Project was a natural idea, considering my love for both music and video games.

A collection of select Nintendo game themes performed over with guitar. Currently this project is a live video collection on YouTube. I may collaborate all the ones I make together someday into a DVD or something. But as for now, this is just a passtime project.
