Raised in the streets of the Chicago, Bilal was influence by a diverse culture. In the Chi, almost every soul is touched by gang-banging. Instead of focusing on the negitive aspects of the enviorment, Bilal saw value in the well organized gangs. Chicago also expose him to various froms of music at a young age. Be it classic r&b, real hip-hop, or that gansta shit Bilal found his direction. In the mid 80's, Bilal witness A revolution in the Chi. Surronded by Chicago pioneers such as A.C.W ( All City Writers), DJ Chris Underwood, Shahid Mustafa, Akbar, and many more, it was no question that Bilal would inbody that same spirit. He later relocate with family to Kansas City, MO. Once established, he relized Black youth shared the same stuggle nation-wide. He formed The Hungry Coterie in the early 90's which consist of AK (Anajm Karam), A-ONE, and himself. Coterie's music reflects the every day grind and documents the struggle of our people in AmeriKKKa.
