Reading science fiction and fantasy, watching T.V., listening to music, collecting and enjoying various types of incense, playing computer and role-playing games, learning languages, writing (when I'm on a creative streak), and poetry (I find German to be a very expressive and poetic language). From time to time, I might have some poetry in my blog. Who knows? Some of it may be written by me.
I'm a huge Trekkie--I have the emblem of the Romulan Star Empire tattooed on my left calf. I don't know what it is, but there's something oddly attractive about the Borg Queen.
But I'm also a Star Wars fan.
I could go on and on about Dungeons & Dragons (gnomes rule!). I mean, just ask me about my favorite character, Sirrus Iskaryot Kobayne.
And I was just introduced to Vampire: The Masquerade (I love the Malkavians).
If you're wondering, yes, I was in marching band and Quiz Bowl, but no, I never wore a pocket protector or taped glasses.
I'm the only guy I know who likes faeries as much as I do.
I'm a pyrophile who loves spicy food, but oddly enough I hate hot weather, and love good, strong winters.
I'm also a fan of Detroit sports teams, especially the Red Wings.

I'd like to meet:
I'd like to meet Henry Rollins, whom I'd like to see sitting in the Oval Office.
Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell, two poets for my generation.
The lovely and talented Tina Root and Susan Wallace, of Switchblade Symphony.
Here's some eye-opening comedy about the organized criminals in the White House and on Capital Hill.
"Cursed is he who enslaves our people
Accursed in the lightning that reveals his work
Accursed in the thunder that will lay him low
Be he accursed in the waters of the flood that shall sweep his life sterile.
Accursed by sun, and moon, and earth
rising and setting, waking and sleeping,
living and dying, here and hereafter
Be he accursed beyond life, and beyond death, forever"--Sol Invictus

Music:
Arcana (not to be confused many other bands of the same name), Bleeding Like Mine, Dead Can Dance, Deine Lakaien, Desiderii Marginis, Gothica, London After Midnight, Lycia, Midnight Syndicate, Rasputina, Rhea's Obsession, The Sisters Of Mercy, Sol Invictus, Sophia, Switchblade Symphony (I have a big crush on Susan), This Ascension, Clan of Xymox... (Coil did the greatest version of "Tainted Love" ever.)
Covenant, Das Ich, Eisbrecher, Funker Vogt, In Strict Confidence, Kalte Farben, KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Tanzwut...
Alice In Chains, Bjork, Clutch, Faith No More, L'Ame Immortelle, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Soundgarden, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Rancid, Metallica, Opeth, and Tool.
I'm not really into the gangsta rap and hip-hop of today. Rap and hip-hop used to have more of an uplifting message; now the record companies are promoting the sale of morals for a quick buck, and the degredation and harm towards blacks and women. It's a genre of music that's as degrading toward blacks as neo-Nazi punk or white-power metal.
I rarely listen to the radio anymore, unless I'm driving--it tends to be less about what you want to hear, and more about what they want you to hear. My favorite station ever has to be the short-lived Rock107. They delved deeper than the mainstream, playing everything from blackened metal to old-school punk. However, with such a short-ranged antenna and underfunding, they were taken over.
My contribution to music was playing flute in junior high school and baritone sax in high school.

Movies:
I'm very much into the Matrix trilogy.
Science fiction, fantasy, horror, and weird concept films (like "Being John Malkovich" and "Dogma") are part of my DVD collection.
THE FOUR MOVIES THAT HAVE MADE ME CRY:
1. "Dancer In The Dark"
2. "Life Is Beautiful"
3. "Schindler's List"
4. "Pink Floyd: The Wall" After all this time, it still hasn't lost its relevance.
I recommend that you see "300"!
As anyone could guess, yes, I love the Rings trilogy.
I like the Hannibal series, but I haven't seen "Manhunter", but I have seen it's reincarnation--"Red Dragon". That's fine with me, because the latter has Ralph Feinnes.
I like the "Saw" series, but I haven't seen III yet.
Other movies I like include "The Cell", "Phonebooth", "Devil's Advocate", "Edward Scissorhands", "The Corpse Bride", "Fight Club", and "Willard". I haven't seen "The Nightmare Before Christmas" yet... SHAME ON ME!
Television:
I don't watch a lot of TV, because there are far too many people in the spotlight who should be out of the spotlight... in fact, they should be tucked away from society, altogether. A few things I like stay on for a long period of time. However, I do like "NCIS", "Criminal Minds", "House", and "Scrubs".
If you have the chance to catch it, watch "The Red Green Show". It's a Canadian show I used to watch when I lived in a bordertown in Michigan, where I grew up. Now I just watch it on PBS.
I cannot STAND anything that has Paris Hilton-esque people on it. You know, the type that's famous for not really doing anything accept being rich, and they're too untalented to do anything else. Their diet consists of pills, booze, and coke (not "a-cola", either).
Books:
The books that stand out that I've read are the Quran, by God, as told to the prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him),
the "World War" tetralogy, and "The Two Georges", by Harry Turtledove,
and "Autumn Sonata", by Georg Trakl, rewritten in English by Daniel Simko.
Heroes:
My heroes include Malcolm X, Dr. King, Henry Rollins, Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell... just a mixed lot of people, really.
