My Interests

I'm a reliable source... I'll tell ya anything you want me to know.Reading, listening to my albums, riding my bike, playing with my animals, and sleeping. Television is okay too, and so is the cinema... if there's anything good worth watching. Time outdoors is a choice endeavor.

Music:

Rock 'n' roll, jazz, blues, folk, some folky/country, and alternative. I've got nothing against electronica, but it wore out for me in high school. I don't listen to the radio around here. It's horrible. My heavyweights: Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, David Bowie.Favorites: The Dandy Warhols, the Foo Fighters, Man or Astroman?, Johnny Cash, Jackson Browne, CCR, Howlin' Wolf, Chuck E. Weiss, Mick Ronson, Mott the Hoople, Van Morrison, the Kinks, the Blues Brothers, Devo, Maceo Parker, Herbie Hancock, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, James Taylor, Ray Charles, the Kinks, the Who.Lately: Sufjan Stevens, Golden Smog.

Movies:

Some of them:A Fistful of Dollars For A Few Dollars More The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Jaws. The Royal Tenenbaums. The Life Aquatic. Charade. Coffee & Cigarettes. How To Murder Your Wife Good Neighbor Sam. Clue. The Great Escape. The Alligator People. It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Raiders of the Lost Ark. Kill Bill volumes 1 and 2. My Fair Lady (Audrey Hepburn ver.) The Music Man (Robert Preston ver.) O Brother, Where Art Thou? High Fidelity. Mallrats. Creature from the Black Lagoon. Godzilla versus Monster Zero. John Carpenter's "The Thing". Girl, Interuptted. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. The Shawshank Redemption. The Green Mile. Mr. Holland's Opus. Igby Goes Down.

Television:

M*A*S*H, Seinfeld, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Quantum Leap, MST3K, Cheers, the Mary Tyler-Moore Show, Gilligans Island, Sanford & Son, the Munsters, Perry Mason, Ben Casey M.D., and Dr. Katz, Prof. Therapist.I enjoyed the first seasons of Rescue Me and Six Feet Under, but haven't watched anything further.

Books:

I read everything I can get my mitts on. My variety is wide and the content vast. I read novels, I read comic books, I read biographies, I read historicals, I read books on nature and science, I read the box on my cereal. It's 100% likely that, no matter where I am, I'll always have a book in hand or close nearby. I love the printed word, I guess.

Heroes:

QUOTE SECTION:"What's more romantic than dying in the moonlight?""Champagne for my real friends and real pain for my sham friends.""I don't know what the Big Time is. It's relative to who you are and how far you've come...the Big Time is whatever you think it is: everything from 40 acres and a mule to owning Belgium, or having a pack of cigarettes and place to get out of the rain."-all by Tom Waits
