I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Geez, that's a tough one. Every time I think I know myself well, I end up finding out something about me that I may or may not like.
I have a degree in mass communication and multimedia and am hoping I can make the best of them. Not that I like to communicate to the masses, or know a multitude of media, I just happen to like to read and write. It sure beats a typical day job spent in front of a PC. I kind of hate routine work. I'm not spontaneous or overly impulsive, but I hate being able to predict my entire week's schedule, and that's what happens with an office job. I hope I can go round the world, visit lots of places and take lots of photos and write about them.
I'm a horrible procrastinator who somehow *just* manages to get through right before the deadline. I'm a disaster waiting to happen! I always try to get things done early, but the quote 'the road to Hell is paved with good intentions' is rather apt here. Still, living on the edge of deadlines is quite a rush, if not a particularly healthy one.
I have a completely whacked sense of humour that I seriously have no idea where it came from. It's morbid, sarcastic and it comes always at the wrong time. I love witty one-liners and hate physical jokes. And as you can see, I seem to have a talent for stringing together unrelated sentences and calling them paragraphs.
I hate being in photos, audio and videos. Who knows what they can incriminate me of right? Which is pretty ironic for an aspiring photojournalist. In fact, I hate writing about myself, as I'd rather write about other things, but since self-essays are all the rage these days, I can't avoid them.
Likes: Charlotte Martin, Nature, natural lighting, semi-darkness, MUSIC, READING, FOOD, PRINGLES, SLEEP, nice open-minded people who are unpretentious, a good conversation, video games, MY FRIENDS, SILENCE
Hates: COMPUTER PROGRAMMING, bad temper, loud noise that isn't music, obnoxious and POTTY-MOUTHed people, elitists, talking without saying anything, bright lights, people with no sense of humour, being JUDGED, TINNITUS, SELF-ESSAYS, phone calls that hang up quick *click*. :P
My public photo album can be found at http://picasaweb.google.com/tcchip/ Don't expect to see photos of me though.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

It takes all kinds of people to make up this world, and I'd want to meet anyone who'd broaden my horizons, most especially in the fields of music, photography, literature and philosophy.
Not to mention all you other Char-Char fans that got me started here in the first place! And of course, Charlotte Martin in person! :)
Others I wanna meet: SNOW PATROL, U2, The Corrs, Channel [V] VJ Sarah Tan (eee so adorable!) and so many others I can only dream of.
Please, no "sama-sama kaki Malaysia". Don't add me just because you're Malaysian and want to collect Malaysians all over MySpace if you don't know me unless you're a band or musician. Any Ali, Ah Kau and Arumugam simply wanting to increase their friend count can expect to have their request denied.

My Blog

A toast to chivalry

Considering that I normally bash ads, it's somewhat ridiculous that I would find an alcohol ad (of all things) meaningful, especially when most of them just glamourize a materialistic lifestyle. The '...

Time flies, time cries

Yes, it's a line from Charlotte Martin's Beautiful Life. A couple of entries earlier, I posted about how the last few months have been a storm of emotions, but how much I've begun to live. Now that th...

Carpe Diem

I apologize for the lack of updates, but I couldn't seem to find the right topic and words to write about until now. The last couple of months have been strange, frightening, exciting, beautiful, hope...

On making passes, half-empty glasses and greener grasses.

'Happy Single Awareness Day everyone!' I burst out laughing when I read that so-called Valentine's Day greeting in a message board. I've been doing V-Day bashing for a couple of years running, but it'...

Quantum of Sony

A couple of years I wrote about the flagrant amount of Sony whoring in Casino Royale. It sure as heck didn't improve with Quantum of Solace. Sony always went for big marketing tie-ins, as Spider-Man 3...

Good Riddance

I'll be right to the point. I'm glad George W. Bush's terms of incompetence is up. I may not have any personal reason to loathe the man, but my contempt for him is such that I will not even address ...

Sanctioned Terrorism

Ushering the new year with a bang took on a very different meaning for the Palestinians. Which much of the world celebrate the turn of the clock with fireworks, it was altogether a different kind of p...

And another year goes by

First off, a belated Merry Christmas to everyone. If I were to sum up 2008 in one word, I suppose the best word would be... uneventful. Uneventful in both the good and bad sense of the word, but it's ...
