I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Grew up in colonial Ceylon (Sri Lanka, now) in typical outdoor lifestyle. Brilliant sun, brilliant colour. My formative years were lived through my eyes, not words. I lived a pretty free and wild life, feeling part of nature. I loved having musicians, actors, painters, and entertainers around at home. It spoilt me for anything to do with conventional people. I came to the UK to go to boarding school, aged 13. Sea journeys meant I didn't have a home any more. It was jazz that brought some warmth into dull, cold, cold-hearted Britain. I learnt that 'jazz musicians never play the same way twice.' 'Jazz musicians never do as they're told.' 'Jazz musicians don't take orders from anyone.' Used to be a painter until I was 30, living a bohemian life, upsetting the bourgeois squares, but very focussed and disciplined on art. Turned to photography at 33 because it is more alive than fine art - more humanity and spontaneity. The only value in human life is the creation of art. Bourgeois career and money are boring, futile nonsense. Humour is essential! What others say about me - My old headmaster: 'Leader of a gang of delingquents.' His wife: 'A clear analytical mind.' My last job: 'Right-wing shit.' Previous job: 'Left-wing trouble' Wife: 'Uncivilised shit bastard.'

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who lives through their senses, especially the eyes. Anyone with a real sense of humour. One of my best friends was a jazz musician and ex art student. We could go to a pub and not need to talk all the time. Talk leads to quarrels; end of relationships; war. 'It's words that make us stupid.' (Anyone know which modern philosopher said that?). Can anyone have more than a few real friends?
