About Me
The Hebrons provide family
entertainment for your event. The band does not play bars
and lounges. The band plays a wide variety of country
music from the western swing style of Bob Wills to some
songs by todays entertainers such as Alan Jackson and
George Strait. In 1982, Brian Hebron saw an advertisement in the Des
Moines Register for a country music stage show near Des
Moines looking for entertainers. He auditioned for the late
Bill Mallory. Bill Mallory liked Brian and had Brian on his
show the first time in September 1982. He sang two
songs, "She Thinks I Still Care" and "All I Have To Offer
You Is Me".Brian Hebron, vocalist/guitar, and his father, David, bass
guitar, helped form the Crystal Blue Band in March of
1984. Bryan Charter, drums, joined in 1989. Norm Riedel,
steel guitar, joined the group in 1990. Brandon Hebron,
Brian's son born in 1989, began drumming at the age of 3.
He has become a crowd favorite singing lead and harmony
with his dad and playing several instruments.Brian Hebron, born in 1965, has performed in 11 states.
He has appeared on 3 television shows in Iowa and
Missouri. Brian was on 2 live radio shows, one which was
the Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree in Nashville, TN. The
show which is on WSM, home of the Grand Ole Opry, is
the second longest running country music show in America.
The Midwest Country News publication's readers and fans
awarded Brian 3 honors in 1990: Entertainer of the Year,
Male Vocalist, and Musician of the Year. In 1990, Brian
recorded 2 songs he had written at Hilltop Recording
Studio in Nashville, "Don't Forget to Break My Heart" and
"There's Gotta Be Someone Like Me". "There's Gotta Be
Someone Like Me" received radio play by Iowa disc jockey,
Billy Cole. In 1995, Brian helped open the show for
Country Music Hall of Fame member, Kitty Wells. Brian
released a 10 song cassette in 1996 entitled, "Just Me".
The title was chosen because it was Brian doing all the
vocals and instruments on the tape. Brian has been
featured in pictures and articles in the Midwest Country
News publication for years and also in a hardbound book
entitled, "Midwest Country News, The First Twelve Years".
Brian has performed dozens of shows with Buddie
Boswell's Union Mill Opry since 1984 at their theater and
on tour. The Union Mill Opry is formerly from Edgerton,
MO, but is now based out of Idalou, TX, just northeast of
Lubbock. Over the years Brian also appeared on other
country music stage shows around the Midwest including
Branson, MO.Together Brian Hebron and the Crystal Blue Band have
won Country Group of the Year from the Midwest Country
News. They placed second in a readers choice poll in the
Des Moines Register's Datebook for Favorite Country
Band. They have opened the show and were the band for
the Grand Ole Opry's Del Reeves, Country Music Hall of
Fame member Hank Thompson, Iowa's own Smokey Smith
and others. In 2005, Brian wrote another song that he felt was worth
recording. The song, "Too Many Heartaches, Too Many
Goodbyes". This time Brian and his son Brandon recorded
all of the instruments, Brian sang lead, and Brandon added
his harmony. People at the shows and dances liked the
song. Brian and Brandon decided to turn to Billy Cole
once again to see if it was a song that he would play on his
radio program. They asked for his honest opinion so they
would know what to do or not do the next time. Billy liked
the song. He called them and left a message before they
got home from his house. The song was on the air that
night. KWMT 540AM in Fort Dodge is also playing it.
Thank you to everyone playing the song and supporting
Iowa entertainers and real country music.
