RHESTUS/Release (ENGLISH)
Brought to life in March of 1993, in the city of Rio do Sul/SC, Brazil , the Thrash Metal band, RHESTUS, was born of a joke among friends, and after 17 years it’s stabilized as one of the greats Heavy Metal bands of Santa Catarina and Brazil . Among so many influences inside the musical universe, we can highlight the Thrash and Heavy Metal played in 80’s.
Their discography counts with two demo-tapes - Had a World (1996) and Heroes of the Doomsday (1999) -, participations in four collections - (Rock Soldiers Vol.4 (2000); The Winds of the New Millenium Vol.3 (2000); Atlantida Vol.9 ( Lithuania - 2001); A Tribute to Anthrax: Indians Not (2005), besides an EP (2007) and two albums.
In 2001 the band moved to Timbó/SC, where they stayed until the mid of 2008. In November of 2003 they released the debut album, Embryo of the Endless Sands, with 11 tracks and artwork from the German artist Michael Schindler. In 2005 the band was invited to record a track on a Brazilian tribute to Anthrax, entitled Indians Not, approved by the American band themselves, being its version recognized by the media and specialized public as one of the best.
In 2007 they begin the pre-production of the new album, which took until the second semester of 2009. During that period, in August of 2008 the EP Rest of Old, New and Rare of 15 Years is released, to celebrate the 15 years of the band. In the end of 2008 / beginning of 2009 the band has a big change in the line-up, being forced the organize and to re-plan all the actions, such as moving from Timbó to Indaial/SC, weekly rehearsals (that used to be every two weeks), and producing of new merchandising. After that dark period, Rhestus produces their own event, named I Metal War, introducing the new line-up and their return to the stages. In the meanwhile they take part in some regional events, strengthen the new line-up.
Now Rhestus is in process of releasing the new album, producing the first video-clip, updating the merchandising, site, myspace, besides scheduling the official tour to promote the album that now will be officially released on March 15th, 2010.
