Grew up in McGregor,TX listening to the likes of Dire Straits and Pink Floyd. When I was about 7, my father bought me my first acoustic guitar from a gentleman who lost the use of his hands after a stroke. Learning to play along with the Dire Straits album, "Brothers in Arms", my love for creating music began. In the 90s I became submerged in the grunge era. Bands like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Nirvana influenced me into a heavier and much more loosely structured form of music. After starting a family, my taste in music lightened. I became interested in artists like Jimmy Lafave, Ryan Adams, and the old, acoustic blues of Robert Johnson. After hearing my first Johnny Cash record, I realized that singing might actually become a reality. One morning when nobody was home, I recorded my first song, Chris Isaak's Wicked Game. Met with suprisingly positive response, I decided to take the ball and run with it. Hence was born....Heroes in Hiding.
