Billy Biscuits??? Yeah, it's a funny name but the skills are nothing to laugh at. Born and raised in the city of Austin, Billy was heavily influenced by his mothers love of classical, fathers love of funk/soul music as a child. Mixed with his siblings' love for R&B and rap, the new skool flava of the late 80's and early 90's carried his musical journey into the hip hop culture. Here, Billy began to develop an individualized attitude which fit the motto of the of his hometowns culture, "Keep Austin Weird." Various genres from rock, alternative, house, dance, etc. continued to mold his musical interest into a section that could no longer be pigeonholed in a particular category. In 2000, the music followed him to Arlington where eventually he would expand his musical creativity with one of the basic elements of hip hop, the DJ in 2003. After years of gathering the equipment and developing the fundamentals of turntablism, he soon met up with local battle turntablist, DJ Frantic (Clever Monkeys) who took him under his wing to teach and to be an assistant in his Turntablism 101 course in 2006. After his untimely passing Billy took over the course and has continued to teach those who show an interest in the dying artform known as turntablism. From clubs to pubs, house parties, private events, celebrations, and even overseas, Billy Biscuits is guaranteed to keep the positive energy flowing in the room. But that's only the beginning of what's yet to come, so stay tuned because the future is now for MR. BISCUITS!!!
