About Me

We are a tiny Danish punk rock label. We have released some records. Buy them here here .PBR 002: The 20Belows/The Apers 7"
The 20Belows is the pride of Denmark, and one of the hardest working bands in Europe these days. They released their first album ”Headaches and Moodswings” in 2007 on Whoa Oh Records. The same year they toured Europe twice with first Mcrackins and later on Johnie 3. This year they went on their first US tour, and if we know them well, they will probably be touring Europe somewhere this fall.
If you don’t know The Apers (even though you should), this is your chance to hear the latest material from the punk rockers of Rotterdam that has been around for more than 10 years. They released their maybe best album ”Reanimate My Heart” last year, so if you haven’t heard it yet, you should do it right about… NOW! This 7" contains the last songs recorded with Marien Nicotine as a member of The Apers.

PBR 001: Team Stray - Three Songs About Girls and One About Trevor 7"

"Three Songs About Girls" review by Jersey Beat:
This very bubbly, dare I say adorable sounding, act provides exactly what they say: Three songs about girls and one about some guy named Trevor. The material is all bubblegum punk fare; easily digestible, but still fun. If you are old enough to remember Green Day's earliest attempts to write songs about unrequited love and the pain of heartbreak, you will love "Never Making Up" and "Meaghan". These songs each have a catchy hook to accompany their tale of woe. "Charity" is a song that will undoubtedly trigger a few memories, as the song details a relationship in which one of the people involved (read: the guy) simply does not want to commit to anything serious, while "The Shack" sounds like Weston's hey-day. In the end, this was cute and certainly enjoyable, for Team Stray do what they do quite well. If you are looking to indulge your musical sweet tooth, this slab of vinyl will more than satisfy - Rich Quinlan
Apers/20belows review by Punk Or Nothing:
Wow. This is just really, really good. Thank you Peabrain Records for releasing this superb split effort from the Apers (Holland) and the 20belows (Denmark). There have been so many great European records this year, and in my books this could easily meet a list of the top three. The Apers side. Well, all I can say is, what a relief! The jawdroppingly instantaneous and hit-filled Reanimate My Heart left me with the assertion that they couldn't possibly exceed their own glory. How wrong was I? When I heard the lead laden opener "Summer Obsession," the Apers put my lack of faith to shame. "Summer Obsession" runs in a similar musical vein to their last leg of tunes, but is thematically much less tortured than the dark, serious tone of Reanimate My Heart. It makes its mark as its poppier alternative, and incorporates a lighter, friendlier lyrical style, but at the same time remembers not to make a complete departure from a good form. Song number two, "Something More to Someone Else" is a hearkening back to the basic but never boring aesthetic of their early days - I'd be willing to believe this is in fact a song written back in 98/99, but for some reason never made it to a release until now. This tune is yet another in a long line of Kevin's perfect love lost anthems, and could sit comfortably next to any side-a track on their classic self-titled. The 20belows side: Two short and snappy contributions, actually better than than anything they've ever put out before, at least as far as I know of them. I'm not sure why, but their L.P (Headaches And Moodswings) just never grew on me. This band seems to have excelled this time round. I'm not familiar with any other non-album material they may have put out, but I am now keen to explore. There's really not much to contrast, as both tracks have the same things in common: vocals ranging from gloomy to indifferent to exasperated, a screeching guitar sound which darts around amidst chunky bass lines bouncing proudly the background. The only noteworthy difference between the two tunes is in tempo. "For Goodness Sake" is a fairly slow toe-tapper; "Once And For All" would be best described as reminiscent of the variety of skate punk from the Fat Wreck back catalogue - binge drinking being the main theme on display, Fat Mike could have written these songs with ease. The infectiousness here inspires me to re-visit that album and give it another chance. - Dick Nothing
