About Me

I've been making jewely since I was a young girl. I've always loved jewelry and when I discovered different ways to make it, I've never stopped. In 2003 I decided it was time to get serious and start a business. My cat was not as impressed by that idea, and he tried to let me know he did not appreciate me ignoring him while making jewelry by breaking things and doing generally bad things. I found myself yelling N0!No!! Bad cat! As naughty as he can be, he's my best friend, so it seemed natural to give him the credit he so rightfully deserved, and Bad Cat Creations was born. We live out in the northwoods of MN, where the wilderness and nature constantly inspire. My jewelry designs are one of a kind, handmade pieces. I use quality materials (sterling, gold, semi precious & precious gemstones, pearls, crystal, ect), and also work on commission. I've made jewelry for specials occassions like weddings and parties. I like all kinds of music depending on my mood. Music inspires the things I create.

Movies:

My favorite movies to watch when I'm designing new jewelry are usually artsy, out there movies. Frida is one of my favorites, I'm very inspired my Mexican art. I also love Great Expectations, Big Fish, Sleepy Hollow, Basquiat, and any movies that is visually stimulating and colourful.

Television:

Don't really watch too much tv when I'm creating, kind of sucks it outta me. Although I do like watching HGTV, Discovery, travel and other shows I can learn new things from.

Books:

I love books, all of them, everything and any kind. I'll read just about anything.

Heroes:

My Mom, my cat Hooka (the orginal Bad Cat), Frida Kahlo, Basquiat, and all my amazingly creative friends who inspire me everyday!

This weekend: Art in the Park

This weekend's show was awesome!! I was a little nervous Saturday because of the non stop rain! But was just awe struck by everyone out and about truckin' through the rain... and happy while doing it...

heavy metal!!

I had my first lesson in welding today, and I LOVED it!!! I'm creating a tree to use as a display for my booth. It's almost finished and it's lookin' great! I can't wait to get more lessons in welding...
