I attended a performing arts highschool where I majored in modern ballet which was my passion. Through school I was given the opportunity to take advanced classes in jazz and modern dance at the University of the Arts. Eventually I was granted a summer scholarship to further my studies. It was my dream to attend the U of A after highschool and persue dance as a profession. Unfortunately due to various injuries and knee problems that dream wasn't realistic for me. So i continued to take classes at a dance school in my neighborhood and within 2 years i gave it up. It's not so bad though because within those next few years I became more familiar with my god given talent that i rarely shared with anyone, which was my voice. Before dancing and singin' since early childhood I was always a writer. It felt so healthy to bring all the raw emotion and feeling that I was too scared to express, to life through words. Besides the gratification of creating something beautiful came another feeling which was relief and a wonderful sense of emptiness. This was an excellent outlet for me. I began with stories which progressed to poetry which progressed to song. I also took some writing courses in college which I loved. So for about seven years now I have been writing songs and getting out there and singing for people. I've grown into myself, my voice, and my talent quite nicely. I am looking forward to sharing it with others. My ultimate goal is not stardom I would be happy just making my bills doing what I love. For me that is what life is about. These days i been playin wit my band Parkside ave. The most talented cats that I've had the pleasure of making music with. What sets us aside from other bands is our relationship with eachother. We all care for eachother and are great friends and it reflects on satge and in the music. Stay tuned for new music from P-side comin at ya soon.
