He is an authentic and vibrant artiste, bent on uplifting Reggae music through positive lyrics. WHO IS HE...JAH BATTA. Born in Jamaica's parish of St. Catherine, he was named Antoney O'Meally at birth. He migrated to the USA in 1973. Since then, he focused his artistic talents on composing numerous songs and performing in the Tri-State area. In the 1980 Jah Batta recorded his first single "Sometime Girl" in tandem with Lincoln "Sugar" Minott. Later, came "Acting Shy", a duet with Tyrone Evans. In 1983 Jah Batta joined forces with 2 colleagues, forming the group Jezreel. The group recorded the single "Playing tricks on my mind", on the Wackies Label.Jah Batta has the distinction of being one of the first reggae acts to perform in China and Japan and has shared the stage with the likes of the late "Crown prince of Reggae" Dennis Brown, Glen Washington, The Meditations, Sugar Minott, Freddie McGregor, Everton Blender and Lt. Stitchie. They lyrics of the songs on his CD "Earth Crises", places him head and shoulders above his peers and propels him towards the realms of the music industry.Jah Batta has toured Holland, The Netherlands, Paris, Germany, Belguim, and England, singing and inspiring to packed venues and generating rave reviews.His latest cd "Good Loving" on the Ruff Stuff label, is already making waves and his songs are being heavily rotated by major radio stations around the world.JAH BATTA IS DEFINITELY DESTINED FOR THE TOP.
