Hello all, the Slipknot Sucks page has returned! Supposably people cannot handle this myspace and felt the need to report it. Although I have lost all the hatemails I will get more eventually.
History of this Shitty Band: It all started back in the mid 90's when Slipknot unvieled their first cd. This cd was called Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. and I admit it's not a bad album. At the time Slipknot was very underground and only played at local shows. In fact only a certain number of copies of this album was even produced because all Slipknot did was throw it to the fans during shows. This album mixed jazz and nu-metal like elements into one and like I said, it's not a bad album.
Then, in 1999 Slipknot came out with their self titled cd. Almost immediately this band was controversial for their masks and the subject matter. Some of the hit songs on this piece of shit was Wait and Bleed, Spit it Out, Eyeless, and some others. In fact, Mancow's Morning Madhouse (a radio show) was the only person to play Spit it Out on the radio. For some reason no one would play it. This album lost all the jazz elements and had a few new members plus a new singer. Wait and Bleed hit MTV and the mallgoth generation was born! I'm not 100% sure but I think at this time is when the drummer Joey started calling the fans "maggots" because they fed off their music? (Yeah I have no idea either..just nod your head and keep reading) This album was a classic nu-metal shitfest that was heavily influenced on rap. Songs like No Life and Spit it Out show that as well. Overall this album was pure garbage.
Oh lord..Iowa. The album Iowa was the second most mainstream album they have ever produced. Here is a quick funny quote from Corey Taylor,
"A couple of months ago, some evil people, some money hungry, cocksucking, idiot motherfuckers came to us and said: "You know, if you want your next album to be huge, you gotta write a radio friendly fucking song"...Now being that we are Slipknot, we are 9 crazy people from the middle of nowhere, 9 people but do not give one rat fuck about what the fucking music industry fucking thinks, we stood there politely, we processed the information and we said: " Well, thank you Mr. Businessman, but if you'll excuse me...SUCK MY MOTHERFUCKIN' DICK!!!! And this next song is a result of that fuckin' conversation, if you're 555 I'm 666, THIS SONG IS CALLED HERETIC SONG!!!!" (thankyou Black-goat.com)
Whooaa their Corey, how about we take a chill pill eh? Wait a second..how can that be? Why is Corey so mad? This album WAS mainstream. I mean Left Behind was probably burned into television sets across the country on MTV. Also, why the hell is he talking like a fucking twelve year old? I say this album was more mainstream then the other because Left Behind was played so much on MTV and that the song My Plague was the official theme music for Resident Evil. Now, I'm not against soundtracks or whatever, but the reason I find this a problem is that Slipknot completely edited this song just so it could be on the soundtrack. They called it My Plague [The New Abuse Mix] What kind of shit is that? This album was putred fecal matter.
..And to end this little disco of pure crap, is the album Vol. 3 the Subliminal Verses. It looks like Corey took the advice of that guy in the previous paragraph. Let's go over the things COMPLETELY wrong on this album..
1. No swearing. Now, I'm not saying swearing makes up good lyrics, because it doesn't, but Slipknot has a history of swearing in their songs and all of a sudden they don't anymore?
2. Corey's voice changed so much and now sounds like a whiney pig. Sure the band has done countless tours and been around since...what 99'? OK BACK THE FUCK UP. Look at some other great bands; Deicide, Venom, Death, Cryptopsy, Vader, etc. Did you see any of those bands changing vocal styles like..a lot? No. Sure Cryptopsy has had different vocalists, but they still have been around since 94. Every one of those bands have more brutal vocals then Corey fucking Taylor as well
3. They had a music video of a girl floating in a fucking field.
4. They made a mask for the maggots..? So, now maggots will be even more obnoxious.
They also made a live album! Most fans say it sounds like complete shit! And it does. A lot of the times he makes the crowd sing for him just trying to prove that their cool? I don't know. The sound is horrible, Corey's voice is horrible, and this "live album" is a fucking joke.
Overall: Slipknot is one of the worst bands on the planet. Sure I do not play guitar, but I listen to some of the most brutal shit ever to be recorded and I know talent when I hear it. I was a Slipknot Moderator on the Official Site forums for almost a year. I have seen these fucking people come and go and they have less IQ then a rock. If I was in Slipknot, I would be embarrassed if all my fans looked like fucking assholes. I just don't get it. Why does someone have to look like a fool, just to like the band? Anyway, besides talking about the fans the band is still shit. Supposably they are making another cd next year and I'm sure that will blow chunks as well.
Reasons Slipknot Sold Out
1. They have their own line of shoes..
2. Their sound changed completely, just to get radio play.
3. They took off their masks for one of the videos called "Before I Forget".
4. Corey Taylor contradicts himself. The reason behind the song The Heretic Anthem, Corey says that it is a song against the mainstream industry, but the next album is one of the most mainstream albums I have ever heard.
5. You can't walk into Spencers without seeing all this Slipknot merchandise. Belts, notebooks, pencils, watches, jumpsuits, halloween masks, wristbands, hats, shirts, hoodies, pants?, socks, flasks, nose piercings, shoes, necklaces, patches, posters, beanies, skateboards, silverware, cd cases, leather jackets, clocks, Vol. 3 and iowa cd's, etc..It's just sickening.
6. In interviews they rarely wear masks anymore.
7. Slipknot was added to Guitar Hero III: "Legends" of Rock
