About Me

...Come Up And Let Me Analyse You, Said The Monkey To The Weasel, And I'll Paint Your Picture On The Wall, If You Can Buy The Easel...
Welcome to my Myspace! Hmmmm, about me... Got my first guitar aged about 10 or so, learnt to play Smoke On The Water, then put it down 'til I was 15, when I started trying to teach myself how to play like Motorhead, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Monster Magnet and many more...since then, tastes have changed, I like to errrrrr 'mellow out' (faarrrrr outtttt maaaaannnnn) a bit more now, always been a big fan of Psychedelic/Acid stuff, still waiting for the day that people want to come and watch it though!
Currently mainly playing guitar in Tubesnake, a top covers band around the North East that's been going for 15 years or so before I joined. Playing a mixture of weird and wonderful stuff from The Beatles, Stone Temple Pilots, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Bowie and much more...also front Victims Of The Fury, playing more bluesy stuff from Robin Trower, The Groundhogs, SAHB, Rory Gallagher etc...and most recently, I sing for the Steve Gilroy ?Band, playing heavier stuff, AC/DC, Sammy Hagar, and some bluesier stuff too from ZZ Top etc...inbetween that lot I do the odd gig or two with Loose, the UK's ONLY Stooges tribute band (hehe!), and the unnamed Kula Shaker tribute band...
Up to this point in my short 'career' if you can call it that, I've had the honour of supporting The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, The Groundhogs, Eddie And The Hot Rods, John Otway, Tygers Of Pan Tang...also played live with The Groundhogs at Darlo Arts Centre last year which was one hell of an experience! Who knows what's to come in the future...I need to pull me finger out and do some original stuff, If anyone's a good songwriter and needs a Guitarist/'Singer'...?
Now what I don't like...A lot of people in the LOCAL music scene...yeah, fecking LOCAL music scene seem to take themselves a teeny bit too seriously. A lot of them are complete shite, a lot of them are great, but the most annoying thing is the ridiculously high opinion a lot of folks have for themselves, and seem to be DESPERATE to be signed by this label or that label, or prove themselves better than this band or that band...for feck's sake, let it go, just go with the flow, turn up, tune in, drop out, have fun, chill, do whatever gets you going...if you're any good, the labels will come to you, the bands will come to you asking for support, the venues will come to you...just chill out everybody. Don't take drugs. Eat meat, but only Free Range...and Let Me Be Your SWWAAMMPPPSSNNAAKKEEE...
Thanks for reading all! Both of you...!
AT LONG LAST, SOMETHING NEW ON ME PAGE!!! Click the button below to make a 'donation' of £1 via paypal...you'll feel a sense of enormous well-being...next time you come to a gig, you can say to your mates "I helped pay for them guitar strings he's snapping" and similair...

Sounds Like: Victims Of The Fury - 60's and 70's rock from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, The Groundhogs, Free, Spooky Tooth and more...

Under The Gun - Playing original RAWK AND ROLL!

Tubesnake - Tubesnake has been playing mainly around the North-East of England for 16 years now, and are regarded as one of the top NE bands. Music ranges from classic stuff from the 60's and 70's music from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Doors and Lou Reed, right up to modern rock from Radiohead, Stone Temple Pilots and Red Hot Chili Peppers...

Also (need a vid!) SGB - Classic Heavy Rock and Blues!
Also sounds like all of the following gear, played badly!

1965 Gibson SG Standard - Fender USA ('97-ish California Series) Strat - Dick Knight Explorer (Handbuilt in the UK, 1977) - Fender Hardtail Strat (USA '80) - Fender Squier Strat (SQ Series - Japan Circa '84)
...Through...

Behringer Hell-Babe Wah -> Dunlop Uni-Vibe -> Marshall Echohead Delay -> Fulltone Robin Trower Overdrive

...And Into...

Cornford MK50 head and 4x12, or a Cornford Hurricane for the whingy soundmen, hehe...

Some other stuff that I've used over the years...

Gibson SG Classic (Gorgeous and I'll be getting another one - it's gone to a good home though!)
Fender 50's Reissue Strat (was Daphne Blue) modded to Jeff Beck style
'84 Kramer Focus (Japan)
'79 Fender Strat (Natch one)
Starfield USA Trad
Jackson Dinky of some description
Cheap SG knock off
'83 Rossli Guitar Co. Handbuilt Mahogany Strat
Mesa Boogie Lonestar 2x12 100W Combo
Marshall JTM60 2x12 Combo
An AKG Wireless (need another one...this one got smashed)
Too many pedals to list...

Drum-wise, a late 70's Premier Kit with various cymbals, me Zildjian Earth Ride is me fave though...and a £5 cowbell.
