Courtney 'Breezi' Bennett. I am a fifteen year old singer-songwriter & emcee, born and raised in West London, UK. I am also an amateur producer, meaning that I am learning how to produce. I've been teaching myself how to the play the piano for a few years now and I can read sheet music, however, I'm still learning. I've been singing for almost eight years, but I've been recording for just over two years. I started writing lyrics when I was about ten years old, being highly influenced by my mum, Katie, who is a singer-songwriter too. My dad, Tony Bee, also played a huge part in my interest in music, as he was, and still is a DJ & emcee. I grew up listening to artists like Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Floetry & Ms. Dynamite, which I have been told, is reflected in my own music.
In 2005, I spent a lot of time with my uncle and his friends listening to music in his room, and they'd occasionally put on a beat and start dropping a few bars. As I was always close to my uncle, Josh, I always wanted to be like him, which resulted in me becoming interested in being an emcee. This was when I was introduced to Grime. I started listening to artists like Shystie & Nolay, this when I started spitting. From 2004, I'd had the nickname 'Breezi', from an old JoJo tune, my classmates said the tune reminded them of me, and I guess the name just stuck. I started recording on old pc mic, which was rather emotional, as all my vocals came out of one speaker and I had no idea how to mixdown. Good times, WELL, we all have to start somewhere!
But now, thanks to the many people I've met & spoken to, I've moved forward and I think it's safe to say I've improved a lot in the past two-three years. I've recieved a lot of help from Jordan 'Darksoul' James, Sam 'Samtastic' Smart, Lyriikal Dot, Lady Chronical, Envy & Sloozie, they've influenced me with my music and encouraged me from the Get Go.
I've worked with upcoming artists/producers from all over the UK to America.
