About Me

I am enjoying my new adopted home town, Austin. After so many years in Los Angeles, I find Austin's size and people refreshing. I've been practicing law for 15 years now. I try to make the time for music and art. Over the past 5 years, I have started painting. I'm getting to a point where even I think some of my paintings look hang-able. Maybe I will post a few. I am also trying to record my first "solo" album and, so far, it is coming out very well. Over the years, I've played in a host of different bands -- including Insect Idol, the Carousel, and the Strawberry Blue (in Los Angeles, between 1980 and 1983), Fields Laughing (in San Francisco, from 1984-1985), Pop Art (1985-1987), and then on and off with Breakfast and Grady in Los Angeles. Since marrying Kathy Valentine, I have also renewed my musical activity, and was lucky enough to be the third drummer on her solo record -- along with two of my drumming heros, Clem Burke (Blondie) and Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello and the Attractions). But now, the true joy in my life -- literally -- is my tremendous and lovely, smart and stunning 6 1/2 year-old daughter Audrey. Every time I look at her, I find that I lose much of the jaded slant that has seemed to follow me through my life.
