About Me
G.S.N.Y. started as an ‘art as a weapon’ idea with a T-shirt taken from the
classic English ‘God Save the Queen’ Tee and has become over the
years an iconic NYC logo. We started to make the shirt as backlash to the
Disney take-over of NYC in the late 90’s and eventually did parties and
concerts all over the city under this banner as well. And most excitingly
there was an exclusive punk anthem song recently done in homage of our
efforts by NYC greats called ‘God Save New York’ written by legendary front
man of infamous NYC punk band Toilet Boys, Miss Guy, who performs lead
vocals and features the Queen of NYC Debbie Harry from Blondie!G.S.N.Y. aims with its message through art, to TAKE-BACK the new ‘Disney
Land NY’ and work with the artists & underdogs that have made this
city the OZ escape for generations of creative people and black sheep over
the past century. G.S.N.Y. is a love letter to our city with hopes of
awakening these voices and hopes to slow down the radical gentrification of this
great raw art city, which we will fight from our city becoming a whitewashed strip mall for big
business. ‘God Save New York’ is for young people; artists, revolutionaries
and people everywhere who share this love for New York and wish to save the
great spirit of our City. Viva New York!We are blessed by the support of folk like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Debbie
Harry,Courtney Love, Madonna, Heatherette,Moby, Boy George, Rufus Wainright, Michael
Moore, Glen Matlock of The Sex Pistols, Bob Gruen, Legs
McNeil, Toilet Boys, Bloody Social, Pretty Boys & Morningwood to name a few.CHECK BACK HERE IN 2009 FOR INFO ON THE RELEASE OF THE LATEST LINE OF T-SHIRTS AND G.S.N.Y. PARTIES HELD IN NYC!
