PaN from Journeymen Soundsystem

Hola my name is Pan. I started Journeymen Soundsystem with a couple of good friends in 2004. We were all into reggaemusic for a long time, some ina soundsystem style, others as musicians and technicians. We became more and more inspired by the UK soundsystem style..while passing by session's of King Shiloh, Jah Shaka and Jah Tubby's... Playing Powerfull Uplifting Rebel Music Upon unique self-build speakersets and equipment. So it takes a lot of time and energy to realise a good working soundsystem and that is our main goal at the moment, very busy improving our speakers, amps and di whole ting. It's a great thing to do especially when the soundsystem is blazing reggaemusic and you see the people enjoy the music.My work is organising the gigs and selecting which tunes to play in session. I am also singing and chanting on the dubs we play. Many times I sing with other musicians like Zebra, KarmaKonga, Zeemonster, Lion Allstars, ReggaeMaffia, Joyce no Spang and soundsystems like Blakkahill, Propagunjah, ForwardFever, Mannasseh and King shiloh.With Journeymen we have some special acts like The Panna Football competitions, cause we longtime football players too you know, so we build a small field to place besides the soundsystem where the people can show their skills in the arena or just get some good exercise, yeah man..Sometimes we set up the PiratesRadio at festivals, like ReggaeGeel and ina Ruigoord so people can enjoy the soundsystem on their radio's or using a digital internet stylee..Remember we are all reggaemusic lovers. For reggaemusic is a special thing. It is the music of the people telling about everyday life, the hardships and the good things. It is spiritual music, that praises life and creation but most of all it's the rebelmusic that touches us to stand up against uppression and free the people all over the world and tells us to stop the foolish fighting and unite as one making a better world that we all can enjoy...
