About Me

Thomas is a graduate of Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, where he was a Dramatic Arts major. He also volunteered at Rogers Television for two years shooting everything from community events to live sporting events and in studio shows, as well as the press conferences for the 1999 Toronto International Film Festival.Thomas was accepted into the Film & Television Production program at Humber College, where he continued to learn about production until his graduation.Shortly after completing his training at Humber, Thomas wrote, co-produced and directed his first short film, Exterior, which screened at the 2004 Quintus: Montreal Italian Film Festival, the 2005 Toronto Festival of Italian Cinema and the 2006 Regent Park Film Festival. He decided to expand the concept of Exterior into a trilogy and in 2005 wrote, co-produced and directed Exterior: Hatred. That film screened at the 2005 Quintus: Montreal Italian Film Festival, the 2006 University of Toronto Film & Video Festival and the 2006 Regent Park Film Festival. Both films can be viewed in this profile, as well as on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/SixSev75). Pictures from the Quintus and Regent Park festivals can be seen in the Pics section of this profile.Thomas' one-act play, Through the Clouds, had a workshopped reading with the pivotal(arts) reading series playLab, in October 2008.Thomas also contributes occasional DVD reviews to the website Compressed Data (http://www.compressed-data.com). Links for some past reviews can be found in the second blog posted on this profile. Links for new reviews will be posted on the Blog.Thomas’ long-term goal is to write, produce and direct for film and theatre. In particular, productions that explore the touchy and taboo side of race, ethnicity and faith.
