Carnivl

Ronan Tierney, Shea and Paul McCarthy formed in August 2006 to play a gig in Cork. Acoustic instrumentation with Bass guitar. November 2006 Brita Waters joined playing drums. Under the name 'John Law' played first gig as a four piece in Crúiscín Lán, Cork, February 2007. Summer 2007 Donal Tierney joined playing banjo and guitars. August 2007 Carnivl played as a five piece in Co. Meath. October 2007 Jane Whelan joined playing violin and piano. The same month played in The Lower Deck Dublin as a six piece. Winter 2007 Brita left and Scott Logan joined playing drums. November 2007 played The Boom Boom Room, Dublin with Daniel McCarthy playing guitar on Bindle. April 2008 Lucy Jackson played violin for a gig in The Cobblestone Dublin. Carnivl played 3 more gigs over summer and autumn of 2008 in Dublin when everyone was in the country at the same time, which is a very rare occurance indeed! Alessandro Giusti (of Kombrogos) played violin in one of these gigs in Cobblestone, with only 2 days notice! March 2009 Carnivl get together again to try out some new tunes. Brita returns on drums and the original line up is back together again, for a while at least. May 2009 saw 2 more gigs in Dublin and the summer has seen yet another break as everyone is in different parts of the world again. Carnivl will be back in the autumn, finally getting some proper recording done and hopefully and EP at least in the pipeline...
