Hewdy Ho Rangers,In the fall of 2005 I had decided I was going to attempt to teach myself to play piano. I felt this would be a compliment to my playing guitar and finally force myself to learn to read music. Shortly after the purchase of my piano my father fell ill suffering a series of strokes. He ultimately passed in January of 2006.In February 06 I had found a portion of a song in what my friends have affectionately dubbed my "man music purse" penned God knows when and was struck by the content. I immediately sat down and completed the work which turned out to be a song about the loss of my father. Shortly thereafter I approached two long time friends Gary McKnight and Doug Byers to inquire if they would be willing to assist me with creating a CD of my songs written from present day to back in 1993 when I first started playing and writing music. Remarkabley to me they accepted. We spent the summer arranging and preparing and began recording in earnest in the Fall of 06. Any artist who has recorded a project at home with their friends knows the pitfalls involved and I won't bore you with the details, but let's just say my timetable and reality were two entirely different things. The long story short at nearly twice the timetable, and twice the expense my project is finally complete. The CD arrived from the manufacturer Friday April 4th, 2008 and is best described as a pop-folk-country-Americana kind of thing. The music included is all penned by yours truly and in one way or another is based upon some real life experience or observation. I appreciate you stopping by my page and look forward to hearing any thoughts or comments you may have. I would appreciate even more your reasonings behind those thoughts or comments. It is available for purchase for $13.00 delivered check or Money Order or through CD Baby. I can also invoice through PAYPAL.Thanks,Kirk Vernon 317 Delaware Drive Ozawkie, KS 66070 785-876-2952 [email protected] www.kirkvernon.com
