Laura J started singing around 11 years ago when she was a meer 16 years old and given the opportunity to grab the mic for a local southwest indie band looking for a lead singer......needless to say, the moment voice met microphone it was love at first note and she has been involved in indie bands, Blues bands, drum and bass and breakbeat vocal production and live performance, and solo acoustic songwriting ever since.For a few years, Laura J was lead singer of Subdiffusion (www.myspace.com/subdiffusion), formally a live 5 piece drum and bass band situated near bristol, (It is now a solo project for Jon Richards, an incredibly talented solo producer of experimental electro and drum and bass signed to Vampire records). Subdiffusion were devoted to bringing kicking beats, funky fretless basslines and haunting melodies to drum and bass lovers all over the southwest......then around 5 years ago laura discovered two other passions in life (besides the zillion others) - surfing and travel, next thing her family and friends know, this crazy little independent blonde is on a plane to Australia and Asia, during which time she truly rediscovered her love for acoustic music and on a more recent journey to Asia and Thailand - Rhythm and Blues, and Funk.........
