Growing up in Houston, the band was raised on hip hop and rap music. The two were in a funk band previously.
After the split of their band, Jorge and Cheeto were curious as to how they would find people to jam with. Following multiple Craigslist failures, the two decided "why not work with what we got?" That is exactly what they did. Cheeto plays his bass with the sounds of his effects pedals to make up for the lack(not so much) of a guitarist in the band. He uses the fuzz of a Big Muff and the harmonies of the Whammy pedal, created to entertain! Jorge lays down his drum beats while topping it off with catchy synthesizer lines! The duo is wrapped up with Cheeto's vocals. The band will go on a small tour this summer of '09. All of our music is played live exactly how it is heard in the recording, with no help from anyone or anything but ourselves. We try our best to make our music as unique as possible, and hope to branch out nationally soon.
Jorge has been playing drums for 4 years. He started playing music in the 5th grade, playing the violin. Jorge entered the local music scene in his second year of high school and gained a growing passion for music. The student branched out from strictly drums to the theory behind music and producing. This gave him the ability to quickly acquire skills in a variety of instruments.
Jorge's influences range from classical music, to jazz, funk, to rock.
Cheeto has been playing bass for 3 years. He started playing music in 4th grade, playing guitar. Cheeto entered the local music scene in his second year of high school and realized exactly what he wanted to do with his life. Slowly, Cheeto began singing to his favorite songs and realizing the structure of most music. He began to apply the experimental tactics of music to modern pop. Heartfelt lyrics and ball-shattering bass lines are the perfect conclusion to the band.
Cheeto's influences range from funk, jazz, experimental rock, pop, oldies, to fusion.
The band walks around the streets of H-Town representing their city. They go hard for their city.
"If Muse, MGMT, and Black Kids had a baby..."
The band hopes to make music, work hard at doing it, and have fun while at it.
