I am first a Christian, then a woman of color, then a single parent and grandmother, and I love all of those aspects of me...My favorite traits came from my father...My favorite saying is, "God's got it taken care of"...I think I must be a good listener since people like to tell me things...I love plants and they grow well for me--I have about twenty of them inside...I am a chocoholic and really only like the dark chocolate...my idea of a perfect way to spend the evening is a candle-lit bath with a glass of dry red wine and a piece of bittersweet chocolate followed by a good book...I once got caught in the rain walking from my neighborhood store so I took off my shoes and walked home barefoot in the rain...I really don't care what other people think about me, unless I have done something to hurt them, then I desperately want to to make it right...I am not the person to hang with if you are easily embarrassed because I love to let my "inner child" come out and play...my son once wrote in an essay about me that I had "little patience with stupid people"--meaning not people who are below average intelligence but people who just ACT stupid--he was correct...I love to write poetry that doesn't rhyme...I am in love with my nappy hair although my pics all show me with flat-ironed hair...I love to bake but don't do it much anymore because I also love my own cooking...I love spicy food but I could live on fresh fruit in the summer...I still love to pick wildflowers like I did when I was a little girl...In college I designed and made my own clothes...I have twenty-three different types of tea...I sometimes get "verbal dyslexia"...I was hit while riding my bike by a drunk driver at age thirteen and my leg was hit but it didn't break--you should have seen what it did to the car...Although I am not considered traditionally beautiful, if I could have cosmetic surgery, the only thing I would change on my face is one mole on my nose...I have worn the same toe ring since 1997...I collect angels and African-American dolls...more to come maybe
