BIOGRAPHY:Dan was born at Memorial Hospital on Paddock Avenue, right in Meriden's Area 3 district. During his youth and adolescence, he excelled in football, baseball, and basketball. He was a high scoring athlete in school and 2 year letterman in basketball. After college, Dan began his career in the Aerospace industry. He is currently an engineer at Kaman Aerospace Corporation/Raymond Engineering, Inc. Kaman/Raymond produces sophisticated missile fusing, which is an intricate part of our troops' and nation's security. Dan is married with two daughters, and still plays softball with Meriden’s amateur league.

EXPERIENCED & PROVEN POLITICAL CANDIDATE:Presently, Dan enjoys civil service and represents Meriden on several vital Boards and Commissions. He actively participates in governmental and community affairs.He is a member of the Meriden Planning Commission, which is the land use agency for Meriden. The primary tasks of the Commission include making decisions regarding conceptual and final development, regulation amendments, redevelopment, and preservation. It is also responsible for the oversight of the Planning Department and involved in many other aspects of land usage.He is an Executive Board Officer for the Regional Planning Commission, or land usage arm of the South Central Council of Governments. The Commission reviews and makes decisions regarding all zoning changes and proposed developments. As Meriden’s representative, he makes direct comments on any activity in adjacent communities (Berlin, Cheshire, Middlefield, Southington, Wallingford.)He works with the Plan of Conservation and Development Steering Committee, which is commonly referred to as the city's "Master Plan." It consists of city officials from different boards, commissions, and councils. He uses his experience with planning organizations in order to develop a detailed roadmap and plan for the direction Meriden must take for responsible, beneficial growth.He serves on Beat the Street Community Center’s Board of Directors to facilitate the healthy development and positive future of Meriden’s youth. Beat the Street Community Center is an organization that services youths aged 5-16 with after school programs including homework assistance, fitness instruction, dance lessons, boxing training, and other activities. There are now 600 members and the center is growing.He is part of the Neighborhood Rehabilitation Advisory Board, which is a city board that operates with the Neighborhood Preservation Program to help home owners and handle out-of-compliance properties. Its primary tasks include overseeing the distribution of home improvement loans, progress of blighted properties, and making decisions regarding fine appeals and watch-code enforcement efforts.
