Soul In Motion was founded in 1984 by Percussionist & Artistic Director Michael Friend. This non-profit performing arts organization is based in Rockville, Maryland (Montgomery County).
The ensemble is led by Choreographer/Associate Director Pam Lassiter Rhone.
A native of Willingboro, New Jersey, Pam graduated from the Performing Arts School of Philadelphia and continued her dance training at Freedom Theater, Philadanco and the University of Maryland where she received her Bachelors in art. After graduating, Pamela joined the company of Afro-One Dance, Drama and DrumTheater where she danced for 5 years before receiving her Masters degree in physical therapy from the University of Pittsburgh.
