Lumien

I am, for lack of a better word, a singer-songwriter, and I'd rather let my songs be the judge of my awful character... for I am like a modern day Northern warrior - voice is my shield, lyrics my pickaxe, melodies my vessel.Also known to some folks as Milja Kaunisto, I have been searching far and wide for The Perfect Place to settle down with my piano, but so far I am just stuck in Paris. Lots of things to observe here. Plenty of opportunities to go nuts. At the moment I'm on a mission to lend a voice to my pissed-off generation in a western society. Throughout my music and lyrics, I'm trying to explore the dilemma of being an angry thirty-year-old in a world that expects me to be content with the sorry state of affairs my elders have left it in- most of the time, I'm just plain singing my anger, sadness, joys and thoughts out loud and it has proven to be quite therapeutic, although chaotic at times.But I just also happen to love music more than anything. Without it, I'm just a sad broken instrument with its torn keys ringing bitterness. I've been banging on a piano and making songs since I could sit up; singing came afterwards but with it I have the most fun. A human voice can do anything. Haven't met a sound I didin't like so far.
