Delicious Peace Coffee

About Me

Mirembe Kawomera “Delicious Peace” began with one man’s dream. In 2004, JJ Keki, a Ugandan coffee farmer, walked door to door asking his Jewish, Christian, and Muslim neighbors to put aside old differences and come together. Their community of third and fourth generation coffee farmers was struggling to make a living off the low prices offered by the local market. These Jews, Christians and Muslims formed a cooperative to build lasting prosperity in their villages and to spread a message of peace throughout the world. They named their coffee Mirembe Kawomera which means, “Delicious Peace” in the Luganda language.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The Peace Kawomera Cooperative’s future depends on hundreds of people uniting to buy a mountain of coffee – 75,000 pounds in 2007 and 225,000 pounds by 2010. Across the country, people of various faiths, writers, Rotary members, religious leaders, college students, musicians, politicians and filmmakers are harnessing the power of their communities to reach this goal. They are bringing Delicious Peace coffee into their places of worship, schools, and offices. By establishing monthly buying clubs, they are providing ongoing support for the Cooperative. One by one, each is doing their part to build the market for Delicious Peace. We invite you to join us. Together we are making JJ’s dream a reality. Want to help right now? Visit www.mirembekawomera.com and buy a bag or two. You will make a difference!!
