Been involved with the Gabber scene for some time now, perhaps 12 years. Living where i grew up, you might never have imagined how the landscape here would inspire this sound. i grew up around sooty black birds, grey damp skies and poorly drained land. Tractors still fart along the road outside on silent afternoons, and the same old gossip circulates the local village like a timeless warp. i never had much time for the world outside my house. spend hours outside in the garden, lurking about, listening, doing, watching. got purple granite mountains in the backround, and you can see cairns on hilltops all around. Its as though a few hours outside everyday creates a magical wilderness inside and out the mind, and maybe thats where the musical inspiration comes from. Long may it last.2004 - saw the formation of N.H.B productions, along side Peter-G, a crazy ginger guy, who by chance had lived only a few miles down the road all the years and whom i had shared the same musical ideals with. Releases were hosted on various websites, and also Aired live on a weekly Radio slot on Galway based - 'Flirt FM'. Irelands first Gabber only weekly radio show, which we managed to keep on air for two successful years.Peter G was a pioneer of the gabber rave culture he inspired in Co.Sligo during 2004/2005. I used to help him set up, built various timber framed structures to house equipment and ravers on an idealic mountain side overlooking the wilds of Co. Sligo. those were the days - total DIY gabber in your back yard style. no law, no regulations, just gabber kick drums and the open air.I am currently working alone, with FL 3.4 and Cooledit pro 2.1 in what i call my production room. A small setup, where i write, juggle, produce noise and contemplate the world. The set-up is basic, and this reflects in the work, but thats the way i like it and its surprising what can be achived. It's the perfect hobby and i'm looking forward to hearing what i can create over the forthcoming hours. Enjoy.
