The unholy union of retired prize boxer Lee 'The Man' Mitchell and notorious street urchin Michael ‘Spikey Mikey’ Stewart is a curious tale……After retiring from a glittering career on ITV’s prime time hit show ‘Gladiators’, Lee entered into a joint venture with Mikey which would see him invest some of his substantial wealth derived from his former career parading about in lycra. At the time Mikey was under a Court Supervision Order for sneaking into people’s houses and eating their cereal at night (A lesser charge of leaving the milk out was left to lie on file pending any further prosecutions). The order compelled Mikey to spend his time more productively to distract him from his urge to plunder peoples cereal boxes. Aside from theft, music was the only other passion in Mikey's life. He decided to invest some of the money that he had made scamming students outside creation on a Wednesday Night playing 3 card Monte along with Lee on a pair of decks and a mixer each. The rest as they say is history….Combining their sheer brute force and streetwise cunning the fiendish duo have recently given the Leeds underground house scene a much needed kick up the back side. (Details are vague but legend has it that Lee cornered the Scene outside the West Indian Centre under the ruse of borrowing a fag off it. Once the Music Scene was suitably distracted rummaging through its own pockets for a B&H Gold, he pummelled it with his mighty fists. Once the Scene was floored Mikey, the loveable rogue, rooted through his pockets and stole what was left of its fags while simultaneously confounding the scene with one of his famous slight of hand card tricks. Anyway I digress….).Initially united under the moniker ‘The Dirtystopouts’, the boys gained a reputation for playing dirty funky house with a filth factor that would make girls get a little bit moist. They played at a variety of venues from unwilling host’s basements to the illustrious West Indian Centre. Using their intimate knowledge of the ‘Countryside and Rights Of Way Act 2000’ they were able to commandeer several local beauty spots along with like minded associates (hippies, mentalists and drunks), and terrorise wildlife with their acclaimed mixing skills.Taking inspiration from Madonna and to a lesser extent David Bowie (both idols of reinvention and rebirth), the boys consulted stylist Gok Wan of TV Show ‘How To Look Good Naked’ in their search for a new musical direction. In between burning the boys’ old underwear and instilling a more structured and supportive underwear regime, Gok lent them a CD entitled ‘Bootleg Booty 4: Jack that Ass’ and their frankly unnerving obsession with ‘Jackin House’ was born. Taking their lead from Artists such as The Sound Republic, Joey Youngman, Little men, RTHM, Lamanex and kinky movement the good people at Guest House Records the boys have been on a year long campaign to get people to ‘Jack up’ (no needle required). It may interest you to know that the boys have the full support of their local Conservative MP in this venture and receive generous funding from the National Mental Health Alliance (Under the provisions of the Care In The Community Act 1990).Some of the facts may have been embellished in the writing of this biography.
