About Me

I have been drawing since I was about 8 years old, it is a gift passed on from my mother and derived from God.Art has been a part of my education and life since grade school. I did spend some time at the Art Institute of Dallas, majoring in Graphic Designed; but after a short period of time I realized this was not the type of art I wanted to do.So I went back to free style creative visual expressions and mixed in a little bit of graphic design to spice it up. I began to work with wood burning in 1999. I woke up one morning and had the thought of drawing on wood. At the time I was not aware that this was an actual form of art, but I would soon find out it was. I immediately emersed myself into finding out everything I could about this form of art called Pyography.By 2002 I had taught myself how to burn art on wood. I became very skilled, it was to the point that what ever I could do on paper I could do on wood. NOW, you know that wasn't anything but God!I began to sell my art in 2003, to co-workers and friends. They all loved it so much and everyone continued to ask me when was I going to start really selling and showing my art. I wasn't quite sure, but I would find out real soon.In 2005, I met a lady by the name of Sonya Cribbs. We worked together on some projects at the job I was on and we became rather close. I showed her some work and a couple of months later God gave me the opportunity to do my first real show since High School.I showed in the Boudless Expressions Art Exbit; that was put on by the Irving Black Arts Council. From that experience I was given exposure, through the Irving local television station, the Dallas Morning News, and the Irving Newspaper. I also met and became close to two very wonderful ladies by the name of Corretta Turner and Ora Guy. They are both members of the Irving Black Arts Council. I must say that it was due to networking with them that I was asked to be apart of representing the African American Artist during black history month, at the Irving City Hall. I was also asked to show Meyerson Symphony Center, GE biulding, and the FedEx Diversity Event. I have also participated in some private showings and have had the pleasure of showing in Arthur Porter's store in South Side At Lamar. Arthur Porter is a wonderful person and he as also introduced me to some new idea's for burning.I am currently working with the Owner of Brooklyn Jazz Cafe in Dallas TX, Lorna, to put on a bi-weekly Sunday Art show. She is so genuine and kind, if nothing else I am blessed just by meeting her. This project is by far one of my most exciting. I am blessed! I hope that everyone enjoys what they see on my myspace and at my shows!Keep your eye out, because I am coming like a storm and you don't want to be unprepared for what I am bringing with me! My art is custome and creative it is truly for those who appreciate love, family, life, and art for all that it truly is.Please read below because it truly explains what I hope to accomplish and represent with this beautiful gift called art! By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Hebrews 11:3 “That what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” This is the best description of the illustrations captured, in both creative and personalized forms of art produced by myself, Signature Illustrator, Cora French.I hope that you all will take a moment to experience, share, and indulge in the mind of an artist, the history of a people and the story of a life through the visions best seen on wood and paper, My “Signature Illustrations.

Life has no time

We are born with a death certificate and in between given purpose...Our mission God's destination...Our timeline before we flat-line...The irony...tomorrow might be too late...
